A new slimline 20A power relay is targeted primarily at manufacturers developing commercial and industrial products.

Fujitsu Components released recently a slim, 20A power relay that is targeted primarily to manufacturers developing commercial and industrial products.

The FTR-K3 is a 1 Form A relay that has a nominal operating power of 780mW, which is the lowest power consumption in this class.

Rated for a maximum load of 20A at 250V AC it is suited for switching compressor and inverter loads in air conditioners, refrigerators and other major appliances, as well as for use in office equipment.

The FTR-K3 has an operating temperature range of -40 to +60C.

Dimensions of the slim-type relay are 30.1 x 15.7 x 23.3mm.

The FTR-K3 relay features an 8mm clearance distance and a minimum 9.5mm creepage distance between coil and contacts for high-insulation resistance.

It also has a minimum surge withstand voltage of 8.5kV, 1.2x50us and features a 1kV dielectric strength between contacts and 5kV dielectric strength between coil to contact.

The relay's expected mechanical life is rated at 2 million operations.

It has an electrical life of 100,000 operations at rated load (20A, 250V AC).

The FTR-K3 meets UL, CSA, VDE and CQC agency approvals and uses UL94V0 and UL CTI level class 2 plastics.

It is constructed of lead-free materials and cadmium-free contacts to meet international environmental requirements.

The FTR-K3 series is available with 250 tab and PCB terminals in 5, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24V DC coil voltages.
