Fast track to component availability
Products admitted to Farnell's new fast-track process will be available via the company's website within 10 working days
In addition to providing a threefold speed increase, the search engine at the heart of the new site allows advanced, intelligent filtering against criteria such as RoHS compliance, ex-stock availability and recent additions to the Farnell range.
The engine can also be used to compare products and to return details of alternative products and accessories based on user-specified criteria.
A streamlined ordering process takes the user to final order confirmation in just five steps, and all in-stock items ordered via the site before 2000 BST will be despatched the same day.

Real-time stock availability and order tracking is available to registered visitors, while shopping baskets can be downloaded, e-mailed and saved for optimum flexibility, ease of use and time saving.
Users can also use the site to request regular e-mail updates on the latest products and technologies.
Commenting on the launch of the new site, Harriet Green, Farnell's CEO, said: 'A powerful website is fundamental to a high service, multichannel distributor like Farnell and we are excited by our faster, simpler, new web front end which allows customers to search with a download speed as low as 0.7s, making us even faster than Amazon and eBay, both strong benchmarks to aspire to'.
'The new website, designed with significant customer input and feedback will improve still further our ability to support design engineers, purchasers, installers and maintainers with a single, easy to use, high speed service saving them time and money when sourcing the products and information they need'.
'Don't take my word for it - go see and experience the difference for yourselves'.
'We will continue to use the web to radically expand and change our business and welcome feedback'.
