Premier Farnell has been selected to provide Lockheed Martin with an onsite dedicated procurement specialist

Premier Farnell has been selected to provide Lockheed Martin withan onsite dedicated procurement specialist. The contract allowsLockheed Martin to streamline segments of its $650 million annualpurchasing at its new Northern Material Acquisition Centre (NMAC)in Moorestown, New Jersey. NMAC handles commodity procurementfunctions for 25 Lockheed Martin facilities across Eastern USA,from Florida to Minneapolis.

Premier Farnell is the first of 11onsite strategic suppliers to be selected for the NMAC, and willsupply Lockheed Martin with maintenance, repair and operations(MRO), and research and development products.

The Premier Farnellgroup began its relationship with Lockheed Martin over 25 yearsago through its US company, Newark Electronics.

This relationshipwas further solidified by the signing of a global suppliercontract with Newark in 2001.

A world-class provider ofe-procurement solutions, Premier Farnell tailors its services tofit the exact needs of its customers, giving them highlypersonalised solutions with complete flexibility and choice.Premier Farnell proposed the onsite supplier solution in responseto Lockheed Martin's objectives of centralising itscommodity procurement, streamlining its procurement processes andrationalising its supplier base.

This new process channelsrequisitions through the 11 selected onsite suppliers and allowsbuyers to focus on more strategic work.

Purchasing transactionsare routed through Exostar, the global aerospace and defenceonline trading exchange, founded by leading aerospace companiesof Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Boeing, Raytheon andRolls-Royce.

Lockheed Martin employees can access Newark'scatalogue online and can buy from anywhere in the world, withorders passing through the Exostar exchange to the dedicatedPremier Farnell NMAC onsite representative.
