"Our focus on power has enabled us to outpace the industry in market share growth.
In the fourth quarter of 2001, sales from power products grew more than 10% to account for nearly 60% of all trade revenues", said Kirk Pond, Fairchild's president, CEO and chairman of the Board.
"We're very encouraged by our aggressive growth in market share, especially during a tough economic period.
The strength of our strategy to grow through acquisition and new product development, while leveraging opportunities in a challenging market environment, continues to move Fairchild ahead as a leading supplier of high performance building block products critical to multiple end markets".
"Our market share growth was gained by focusing on new, next-generation applications, such as DVD players, digital cameras, PDAs, notebooks, set top boxes and Pentium 4 Processor power supplies.
We continue to capture new design wins for a wide variety of brand name consumer, computer, communications, power supply and automotive applications", said Hans Wildenberg, executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Fairchild.
