Elixent has appointed Martin Sotheran as vice president of hardware engineering and Chris Thornborrow as director of software. The new appointees will be responsible for generating products based on Elixent's reconfigurable ALU (arithmetic logic unit) array. Together with the recently appointed European and US business development directors, Sotheran and Thornborrow will drive Elixent's transition from technology innovator to established product vendor.
Prior to joining Elixent, Sotheran worked for Infineon Technologies where he held the position of VP of Engineering at its Bristol Design Centre.
At Infineon he was instrumental in developing the company's verification and IP packaging strategies, recruitment, engineering management, IP strategy, site policies, resources and budget.
Thornborrow spent three years at ClearSpeed prior to joining Elixent.
His achievements include delivery of the company's major software product, consisting of 250,000 lines of code, and leading the software team into the new market of network processing.
He also represented his company on the OpenGL architecture review board.
