New from EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering, the LANPAL100 network tester is designed to help technicians deploy residential broadband Internet services more efficiently. As network service providers increasingly deploy triple-play services over fibre-to-the-x (FTTx) and hybrid fibre-coax (HFC) networks, the need to test services more efficiently and economically becomes paramount, given the number of technicians involved in ensuring levels of service quality. EXFO is expanding its expertise and leadership from testing FTTx and HFC networks to testing data services at the home.
The LANPAL100, a handheld TCP/IP network tester, facilitates the installation and troubleshooting of cable/xDSL modems as well as validates Internet availability and potential connectivity problems.
It provides key test capabilities such as ping testing, upload/download speed testing, display cable/xDSL modem status, as well as cable testing.
'EXFO's leadership in testing Ethernet services at the network's core and edges is now expanding towards the home', said Benoit Fleury, EXFO's Vice-President of Protocol-Layer Product Management.
'In addition to complementing our strong FTTx market position, the LANPAL100 network tester simplifies the installation and troubleshooting of residential broadband Internet services, while ensuring a higher level of quality with its test capabilities'.
'The LANPAL100 is currently under trial at several Tier-1 network operators'.
