Modular supplies boast top power density
A new generation of modular AC/DC power supplies is believed to be the highest-efficiency and highest-power-density configurable products in the world.
All output modules may be user adjusted over a wide range to meet end system requirements.
All Xlite power supplies are safety agency approved to UL60950 and EN60950, are CE marked and meet international EMC requirements.
Other system friendly standard features include LED status indicators and control signals and an independent 5V DC "bias" voltage.
All outputs are isolated allowing individual powerMods output modules and additional Xlite power supplies to be connected in series or parallel for higher voltages or output power.
Gary Duffy, Managing Director of Excelsys Technologies, comments.
"Our new Xlite family offers unrivalled power density with up to 89% efficiency".
"The resultant low heat dissipation, combined with its ultra compact size, radically simplifies system design for our customers".
"The Xlite is the most flexible power supply in its class and delivers very affordable configurable power to the 200 to 600W market".
"The ability of end users to configure the exact power supply they require off the shelf, with no custom design or NRE costs greatly reduces development costs, procurement logistics and time to market".
The Excelsys Xlite will operate at full load up to 50C, has a universal input voltage range of 85-264V AC, over voltage and over temperature protection.
A combination of low-loss technologies, a low number of long-life electrolytic capacitors, high quality field-proven planar magnetics and a high degree of surface mount assembly ensures ultrahigh efficiency and reduces system thermal load by more than 50% over conventional designs enhancing reliability.
Customers may specify the exact Xlite power supply they require by using the online configurator on the company website and use the automatically issued unique part number to place orders for evaluation samples.
Typical applications include industrial equipment, test and measurement systems, automation and robotics, printing, telecomms and datacomms.
