Euroquartz is launching a wide range of new products at Electronica 2006.

Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz is launching a wide range of new products at Electronica 2006.

Exhibiting alongside its German distributor, WDI, Euroquartz will show a new range of dielectric microwave products, a new 8-pin DIL oscillator for defence and aerospace industries, high performance ultraminiature crystals, low power clock oscillators, an impressively specified LVDS oscillator range and a new high specification range of OCXOs including Stratum III specification products.

A new partnership agreement with Chinese manufacturer Caiqin Electronics has extended the capabilities of Euroquartz's filter product line with frequency range now up to 3.5GHz.

Euroquartz Filters division designs and manufactures custom electronic filters for defence, telecommunications and similar applications and the agreement with Caiqin increases the range of products available to customers.

Applications include RF and microwave communications such as GSM, 3G, GPS, satellite and TV transmission, wireless security systems, radar, aerospace and military.

Also on show will be a new series of military specification clock oscillators for use in aerospace, defence and similar hostile environment applications.

The new EQXO-2000BM series oscillators are housed in the popular 8-pin dual-inline (DIL) package and offer frequencies from 30kHz to 70MHz with frequency stability of either +/-100ppm (2100BM types) or +/-50ppm (2050BM models) over the full military temperature range from -55 to +125C.

For equipment used in space or the upper atmosphere, the EQXO-2000BM series oscillators can be produced in radiation tolerant versions.

Designated EQXO-2000BMH, these parts are designed to withstand ionising radiation enabling the oscillators to resist electrical failures for a total radiation dose of 40krad(Si).

Full screening of components in accordance with MIL-O-55310C, Class B is available to special order.

Euroquartz will also launch two new surface mount crystals housed in microminiature packages: the X42 measuring just 4 x 2.5 x 0.6mm and the X4115 measuring only 4.1 x 1.5 x 0.7mm.

Available in the frequency range from 12 to 50MHz, the new X42 series crystals have a gold-plated ceramic base and a seam welded metal lid providing a stable device with very low ageing.

The rugged construction ensures that these crystals have high shock and vibration resistance.

X42 series crystals are specifically designed for use in small handheld communications devices such as PDAs, GPS and Bluetooth products.

The X4115 crystals provide 32.768kHz output in a package designed to provide the smallest possible component sise for real-time clock (RTC) applications.

Their miniature sise and rugged construction make them ideal for battery-powered, handheld equipment.

New low power clock oscillators - the XOK91 and XOK53 - will also be launched at the show.

Drawing less than 1.7mA, both these series are available in commercial (0 to 70C) and industrial (-40 to +85C) versions running from 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3V power supplies.

A new LVDS oscillator, the 3HD5761, offers impressive specification in a small 7 x 5mm package to provide circuit interfaces for FPGAs, ASICs and similar devices.

Offering frequency range from 100 to 320MHz, the stable duty ratio enables realisation of double datarate (DDR) RAM applications and devices like computer networks, video, graphics cards etc The oscillator also provides an ideal clock signal for high-speed serial communication such as Serial-ATA, Fibre Channel, PCI-Express, Ethernet, HyperTransport, IEEE1394b etc Also being launched is a new high specification range of oven controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) including sine wave and HCMOS outputs and OCXOs meeting Stratum III specifications.

Several OCXOs in the range have a choice of AT-cut or SC-cut crystals.

AT-cut crystals offer stabilities from +/-0.1ppm over 0 to +50C and the other, higher-stability part that uses SC-cut crystals offers stability from 10ppb over -30 to +70C.

Two OCXOs are available meeting Stratum III specifications, the OC14T33C for 3.0V operation and the OC14T5C for 5V operation.

Both parts offer HCMOS 47pF output over the frequency range from 1.25 to 40MHz.

Stability of both types is +/-4.6ppm for all causes.
