The corporate quality management system of E-T-A's group headquarters has been accredited to EN9100:2000/AS9100:2001 which address the requirements of the aircraft industry

This makes E-T-A the first manufacturer of aircraft circuit breakers to secure this important approval. E-T-A manufactures a comprehensive range of circuit breakers designed to prevent the destruction of electrical wiring and components in aircraft, and to minimise the smoke and fire risks that overheating can cause.

The E-T-A 483 and 583 high-performance thermal circuit breakers are particularly suited for overload protection in very high performance applications, where random vibration can often be a particular problem.

The Type 483 is the ultimate solution offering an unrivalled combination of performance capability with extremely small size and low mass.

Its unique design features ensure the 483 will provide effective and reliable circuit protection in the most severe operating conditions.

Acceleration, shock, vibration, and altitude are among the many influences which the product is designed to withstand.

With current ratings available up to 35A, the single-pole 483 offers great versatility for aerospace applications.

The Type 583, rated up to 30A, offers identical advantages for three-pole requirements.

Both types are available with auxiliary contacts.

E-T-A has also recently introduced the Type 5140, a high-performance, three-pole aircraft-style thermal circuit breaker with a trip-free mechanism suited for commercial aircraft.

It has full ASNE and NSA approvals for aircraft applications.

Significantly lighter in weight than comparable products on the market, the 5140 is temperature compensated in the range from -55 to +90C, and qualified to operate in ambient temperatures up to +125C.

It is available in a wide range of current ratings from 20 to 50A for three phases up to 200V 400Hz and with optional auxiliary contacts.

In the event of an overload in any phase, all three poles will be disconnected.

E-T-A types 482 and 452 are further examples from E-T-A's high performance selection, offering protection for single-pole circuits up to 50 and 100A, and featuring tease-free trip-free mechanisms with aircraft style push/pull actuators.

All these E-T-A models are equally well suited to other heavy-duty applications including trucks, buses, boats, telecommunications and control equipment.
