Circuit breaker snaps in to replace fuse
E-T-A Circuit Breakers has released a modified design for one of its popular, low-cost circuit breakers for equipment (CBEs).
E-T-A Circuit Breakers has released a modified design for one of its popular, low-cost circuit breakers for equipment (CBEs).
Designed for mounting in standard fuse-holder panel cutouts, the high-reliability CBE is suitable for rapid assembly in a wide range of industries, including communications, automotive and marine, as well as commercial and consumer equipment.
The E-T-A snap-in Type 1658-F01 thermal CBE is a modified version of the compact lightweight, threadneck type 1658.
A choice of connecting terminals is offered.
No mounting hardware is needed for this new version.
It simply push-fits into a standard size panel cutout in a matter of seconds, saving costly assembly time.
When in use, instead of having to identify which fuse is blown and then trying to locate a suitable replacement, the contacts of the 1658 open to provide positive circuit interruption while the reset button trips out to give visual indication.
Pressing in the button will instantly re-energise the circuit.
Furthermore, the 1658's characteristics are designed to avoid nuisance tripping from short-term surges or transients.
The Type 1658 is available in a wide range of current ratings from 5A up to 25A, 250V AC or 28V DC.
The compact body of the circuit breaker measures just 14 x 32 x 27mm.
It is an R-type TO CBE meeting EN 60934 approval.
Typical applications include equipment control, power distribution racks, power outlet strips, battery chargers, UPS systems, bus and truck fuse replacements, and hobby and garden equipment.
