Backup batteries thrive
at higher temperatures
EnerSys Reserve Power Group has a family of valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries that provides prolonged battery life in elevated temperature applications
The new Genesis NP-Gel product line is ideal for DC power backup in systems that require frequent cycling at high temperatures, such as cable TV and remote telecommunications systems. The Genesis NP-Gel batteries use a silica gel to immobilise the electrolyte inside the battery. The proven silica gel technology delivers maximum cycle life and prolongs life in elevated ambient temperatures, because the gel transfers heat generated during cycling outside of the battery more efficiently than other VRLA technologies.

Batteries offer more power in a smaller footprint
A new line of valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries is claimed to offer superior performance while occupying less space than conventional standby power batteries
The batteries include several other design features to prolong life, such as a unique lead-calcium-tin alloy in both the positive and negative plate grids allowing for efficient recharging, thick positive plates to reduce grid corrosion, and a polypropylene case that prevents water loss.
Gas recombination technology used in the batteries minimises gas production during charging and discharging, allowing battery installation in remote locations to maximise space usage.
The gas recombination also eliminates the need to add water, reducing maintenance costs.
Thick walled cases and covers on the Genesis NP-Gel series provide high mechanical strength, making the batteries resistant to shock and vibration.
The batteries meet all relevant industry standards including UL recognition; IATA, FAA and CAB certifications for air transport; and US DOT classification for nonspillable batteries.
The NP-Gel series consists of the NP-Gel30-12, NP-Gel50-12, NP-Gel70-12 and NP-Gel90-12.
Nominal capacities range from 30 to 87Ah at the 20h rate.
Each battery features a 12V monoblock design with an operating temperature range of -20 to +50C for charge and +60C for discharge).
Pricing for the Genesis NP-Gel series starts at $80 each.
Delivery is 4 weeks ARO.
