Adam J Glazer has joined the management team for the Electronic Distribution Show and Conference (EDS) as Director of Special Services, according to an announcement from Executive Vice-President Gerald M Newman. This is a new position, Newman says, created in response to the proliferation of workshop programmes, networking activities, and logistical issues involved in producing the annual meeting place of the electronic distribution community. Newman and Glazer work alongside and supervise the other members of the EDS staff, Show Manager Gretchen Oie and Show Co-ordinator Stephanie O'Connell.

In addition to their role with EDS, both Newman and Glazer are partners of the Chicago-based law firm, Schoenberg, Fisher, Newman and Rosenberg (SFNR).

At SFNR, Glazer's law practice has been involved with the trade association sector and with representing manufacturers' representatives, one of the three dominant sectors at the Electronic Distribution Show and Conference, along with distributors and manufacturers of electronic components and related products.

Glazer earned his JD from the law school of Northwestern University, where he now serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching trial advocacy and business litigation.

He is a graduate of Drew University, Madison, New Jersey.

'The evolving role of the rep at EDS makes this a particularly exciting time for me to join the team', Glazer says, referring to the influx of manufacturers who rely on EDS to help them recruit reps, as a prelude to establishing distributor networks.

'I look forward to getting more deeply involved with the channel as a whole, and to facilitating a healthy environment for dialogue and networking among manufacturers, distributors and reps', Glazer adds.

He is currently working with the EDS promotional staff to produce sales materials for the 2006 Electronic Distribution Show and Conference at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, 2nd to 4th May.

Glazer, 41, his wife Leslie, and their children Sarah, age 9, and Samantha, 7, live in Highland Park, Illinois, where he serves as a member of the city's Zoning Board of Appeals.
