Elo TouchSystems, the global leader in touch technology, and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, has introduced another entry-level touch-monitor as part of its expanding 1000 series. The new 1715L 17in LCD touch monitor joins the existing 1515L 15in LCD to expand Elo's family of cost-effective touch solutions for system integrators and resellers in the retail and hospitality markets. The new space-saving touch-monitor is 'designed for touch', with Elo's proven expertise and reliability already built in.

The 1715L can function as a desktop or wall-mounted unit.

The display is factory sealed against dirt, dust and splashes and is styled to be attractive from all angles.

The 1715L touch-monitor is available with Elo's IntelliTouch surfacewave touch technology, plus a dual serial/USB touch interface.

Worldwide agency approvals cover the entire monitor, which is designed, built, serviced and supported by Elo, a single-source supplier.

'Elo invented touch technology over 30 years ago and has been the global standard in touch ever since', says Ignace Verhamme, Elo Product Manager.

'Using our experience, expertise and ingenuity, we created our family of 'designed for touch' products'.

'Touch technology is built into the 1715L from the ground up not added as an afterthought by altering an existing monitor'.

'The new touch-monitors include a stable base'.

'Controls are placed on the side rather the front'.

'Elo's IntelliTouch surfacewave offers anti-glare clarity and performance, which can be used in a variety of environments because it registers input from a finger, gloved hand or soft stylus with a fast, accurate response'.

According to Mike Sigona, Elo Market Manager: 'The new 1000 series 1715L 17in LCD desktop touch-monitor provides a truly economical solution, with Elo's renowned quality, for systems integrators and resellers'.

'The complementary 3000 series 1725L 17in LCD desktop touch-monitor offers even more features and options, including a magnetic stripe reader'.
