Ember Corporation has named five new partners that will help its customers deploy embedded wireless networks

Ember Corporation has named five new partners that will help its customers deploy embedded wireless networks that monitor, manage and secure everything from bridges to office buildings to truckloads of frozen fish. The new partners have long records of accomplishment supporting industry giants such as IBM, EMC and Fidelity Investments.

Ember's new partners will provide the company and its customers with services such as product documentation, product design consulting, specialised embedded systems testing, and high-volume and custom module production.

Ember develops application development platforms that power wireless embedded networks in industries ranging from hospitality to the military.

Ember's platforms consist of radio transceiver chips, application development tools and Ember's EmberNet networking software intelligence.

Customers develop applications on the Ember platform and embed Ember chips in modules that communicate over low-frequency wireless networks.

The modules are placed in facilities or vehicles to monitor conditions such as lighting and temperature, or in the field to monitor enemy troop movements.

Ember-powered networks also provide remote management over wireless networks, for controlling complex facilities or monitoring a wide area from a central point.

Ember-powered wireless networks perform a wide range of crucial tasks, including monitoring food shipments for freshness, and bridges and roads for wear and potential failure.

Ember chooses its partners for their long-term viability and growth potential.

The company is aiming at huge markets that demand rapid ramp-up to produce large volumes of specialised chips and modules, and plans to add partners over the next several months in key strategic areas.

B and B Electronics is one of two new companies providing Ember and its customers with module assembly and distribution services.

B and B counts companies such as Boeing, Ford, Black and Decker and General Motors among its customers.

Information about Ember's distribution and assembly partners is available on the Ember website.

IAR Systems provides embedded systems testing technology whose customers include 3Com, Casio, Fujitsu and Honeywell.

Ember uses IAR Systems' Embedded Workbench Professional to compile and debug its embedded networking software code.

Tim Rosa Associates develops high-quality user guides, application development guides, and technical specifications for Ember's radio chips, embedded networking software, and application development tools.

Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Fidelity Investments, EMC, Microsoft and IBM are just a few of the companies that maintain working relationships with Tim Rosa Associates.

LS Research is a consulting firm that specialises in radio frequency (RF) and wireless product design.

The company also has a division, LS Compliance, that helps customers comply with federal regulations governing radio communications.

Veritech is a consulting firm that provides engineering, design, prototyping and technical support to help companies develop concepts into working plans.

'We plan to be in a lot of places in a fairly short span of time, so to meet demand and provide superior customer service, we've lined up some of the best partners in the business to take care of key specialty areas', said Ember Operations Director Keith Batchelder.

'We want to maintain our focus on developing the industry's best embedded wireless networking chipsets'.

'With partners like these, we can maintain that focus while gearing for future growth'.
