SBC takes on firewall applications
The ECP-5414 is the first in a series of single-board computers optimised for use in networking applications such as firewalls
The ECP-5414 has a compact 5.25in form factor and is based on a low-power NS Geode GX-300 fanless processor with four 100/10Base-Tx Ethernet interfaces, an LCD interface, multiple I/O connectors, one CF+ and one DiskOnChip Flash socket. The ECP-5414 has four Realtek 8100B or optional Intel 82550/82559/82559ER PCIbus Ethernet controllers onboard.

Two more 1000/100/10Base-Tx Ethernet interfaces can be added to strengthen its network throughput with an optional dual-LAN card through the onboard PCI slot.
Running on the NS Geode GX1 300 MHz low power CPU and CS5530A multimedia companion chipset, the ECP-5414 provide an affordable yet reliable solution for firewall and other demanding network applications.
The onboard memory includes a built-in 168-pin DIMM socket supporting up to 256Mbyte SDRAM.
Alternatively, 32, 64 or 128Mbyte SDRAM can be factory fitted onboard.
Two onboard SSD (solid state disk) sockets offer further storage capacity: a CF+ socket supports Type I/II CompactFlash memory devices, and a DOC socket supports M-systems DiskOnChip 2000 series up to 1Gbyte.
A 4bit TTL digital output function enables feedback for network status alarms.
