Edac has added an ultraslim 15-circuit, high-density R/A, VGA analogue connector to its range of D-subminiature products

As electronic products become ever smaller, and more miniaturised, the available space on PCB layouts becomes more valuable. So now Edac has added an ultraslim 15-circuit, high-density R/A, VGA analogue connector to its range of D-subminiature products. The new connector has been designed for video/graphics card applications, but will provide the same space saving benefits whatever the board function.

The insulator thickness, behind the front shell, is only 4.7mm.

The board space required for the pinout of this connector (excluding location pins and board locks) is a very small 252mm2 (2.2 x 11.37mm).

Excluding the board locks the overall width is just under 31mm.

To provide the maximum rigidity in use, Edac has incorporated two threaded inserts, two board-locks and a pair of locating pins into the design of the connector.

Pin 9 is recessed to allow hot-plugging.

Naturally this is a RoHS compliant product suitable for high temperature assembly environments.

Minimum order quantity is 5000 pieces, and delivery time is 6-8 weeks.
