Alstom Transport has awarded a one year contract worth approximately GBP 1.5 million to Dynex Semiconductor.
Gerard Blanc, Deputy President, Alstom Transport reported: "Dynex is of strategic importance to us as an independent European supplier of power semiconductors.
They have supported us throughout a number of years and this consolidates our relationship".
The contract is for the supply of mission-critical power semiconductors in support of Alstom's rail traction business.
The product to be supplied by Dynex includes specific devices for TGVs (high speed trains), components for new and next generation propulsion drives and auxiliary supplies, as well as customised devices for maintenance requirements.
"Alstom continues to win significant contracts for new rail systems around the world.
They manufacture the world's best rail systems and we are proud to be able to support them", said Michael LeGoff, President and CEO of Dynex.
He continued, "The contract is a turning point after a difficult year in 2001.
The support shown by Alstom should be seen as a positive indicator to all stakeholders including our suppliers and customers".
