Hanson takes the chair
Independent Director Steve Hanson has been named Chairman of the Duraswitch board of directors, effective 1st April 2005.

Independent Director Steve Hanson has been named Chairman of the Duraswitch board of directors, effective 1st April 2005. Bob Brilon, Duraswitch CEO, who has served as Chairman since May 2002, will continue on the seven member board as a Director for Duraswitch. 'Steve has been a strong addition to our board and we are pleased that he has agreed to accept the responsibilities and role of chairman', said Brilon.
'As it relates to corporate governance, splitting the Chairman and CEO responsibilities allows for a greater level of independence between the board and management going forward'.
'As Chairman, Steve will provide leadership to the board with the overall responsibility to ensure that the board sets and implements the company's direction and strategy effectively'.
'As CEO, I am passionate about executing on our strategy to enhance shareholder value and feel we have a strong board and management team in place to make that happen', Brilon continued.
'I am honoured to accept the role of Chairman of the board and to be a part the Duraswitch team as we enter exciting times for the company', said Hanson.
Hanson has served as a Partner at Knowledge Capital Alliance, a consulting firm in leadership development and organisational performance, since February 2003 as well as a Partner in Southwest Value Acquisitions, a private equity firm since September 2004.
Hanson has over 32 years of senior executive experience in the high technology industry, including 28 years at Motorola and three years as President and Chief Executive Officer of ON Semiconductor.
Hanson is a Board Member of the Dean's Advisory Council for the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and was awarded the Dean's Award for Innovation in Executive Education by the school.
Hanson is also a member of the Dean's Advisory Council and the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board for the Ira A Fulton School of Engineering at ASU.
Hanson holds a BSEE degree from the College of Engineering at Arizona State University.
Hanson has served on the Duraswitch board since July 2004.
