SynCraft is a novel application from Datum that enables telecommunications carriers to remotely manage Datum's individual NetSyncPlus network elements thereby increasing overall network performance and reducing costs. In the past, network operators were forced to assign a field engineer to drive to remote facilities to maintain, provision, and diagnose synchronisation status. Now users can monitor performance as though they were physically in front of the units.

"Simplified operation decreases maintenance costs and is an essential tool for carriers to manage the synchronisation performance of their network", said Datum-Austin Product Manager Terry Baldwin.

"SynCraft not only allows our customers to fully maintain our products without having to be on site, but the graphical user interface also makes it extremely easy to use".

SynCraft has a suite of embedded element operation tools to simplify the job functions of network technicians.

Full operation, administration, maintenance and provisioning (OAM and P) can be performed either locally or remotely through a standard, user-friendly graphical interface.

"The first question our customers ask is how can we help them reduce operating costs while maximising the performance of their existing networks", said Datum-Austin President Jack Rice.

"With SynCraft, carriers can leverage their legacy equipment investment, while receiving the latest benefits of our industry-leading technology".

SynCraft is designed with an open, intelligent and modular architecture that supports Datum's entire NetSyncPlus product family and integrates into the SyncManager product for total carrier-class network management.

The software supports Windows 9.x, ME, NT, 2000 and the latest XP operating systems.

Accurate synchronisation is critical for optimising network performance and bandwidth usage to maximise quality of service (QoS).
