Laurence Marchini, Editor, writes:
Readability and organisation: it may sound simplistic, but those are the main requirements in a website according to you, the readers of Electronicstalk, in response to our request for feedback. (I guess we're taking relevance of content as read!)
Under the "readability" category, various sites were praised for "clear typography" (and not just by those who criticised other sites for over-small text) and "clear use of English", which is reassuring for those of us who try to retain certain standards.
And under "organisation" many sites were praised for "intuitive navigation" and speed of searching.
So, having disqualified Electronicstalk itself - which naturally polled several times the votes of its nearest rival - the most praised website for the Electronicstalk community was dear old Google. Not only did you like its presentation and ease of use, it was also praised for "almost always" coming up with the goods.
(This is something for which many PC users will be thankful. The next time you get a blue screen of death, try putting the error message into a search on www.google.com.)
I hope you find this issue of our weekly newsletter useful. We now have more than 8000 engineers and other industry professionals on the circulation, so you're in good company. In addition to the new products, news and ideas featured here, there are hundreds more on our website and dozens more being added daily, so do take a look if you can.
But you don't need web access! All the full stories behind the summaries and headlines in this newsletter can be retrieved by email alone: see details below. In the meantime, if you've got any suggestions as to how we might make the site or the newsletter better, email me directly.
Best wishes

4. High attenuation from soft gaskets
The latest soft gaskets from EMI shielding specialist, TBA Electro Conductive Products deliver attenuation in excess of 100dB across a wide frequency range for applications requiring the highest performance. The ECP 400 soft EMI shielding gaskets comprise a conductive fabric bonded over a soft nonwicking thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) closed cell foam. The gaskets are ideal for shielding applications where high performance levels over a wide frequency range are required and particularly where low closure forces combine with a requirement for good environmental sealing.

5. Package design tool gains time-saving functions
Zuken has added two new time-saving enhancements to its Package Predictor advanced packaging solution for designers developing single- or multichip IC packages. Both offer early-stage insights into critical tradeoffs in package layout and assembly. The package re-use function allows engineers to determine whether an existing package design is practical, rather than having to develop a new package for each new die.

7. Multifunction card features versatile triggering
The PXI-2010 is a four-channel simultaneous 2Msample/s A/D and two-channel 1Msample/s D/A multifunction card from Adlink Technology. The PXI-2000 series combines the advantages of CompactPCI's ruggedised Eurocard architecture and VXI's intrachassis signalling to create a flexible and cost effective multifunction card for the instrumentation market. The PXI-2010 uses the latest carrier and daughter modular design concept, which separates the analogue circuitry and digital circuitry into two cards, thus it greatly reduces the signal noise generated by digital parts and increases the effective numbers of bits (ENOB) in data measurement.
