DMS technologies has secured a new contract for the UK's Ministry of Defence for its portable power packs.

DMS technologies is a specialist in the development of portable power technology suited for use in extreme temperatures and operating environments.

Used worldwide, DMS' systems have proven reliability in the starting of all types of military vehicles including helicopters, battle tanks, armoured vehicles, heavy goods vehicles and light aircraft.

At best, flat batteries are an inconvenience, but in the worst circumstances can endanger the lives of personnel.

There are two versions, a 24V portable power pack for Class A vehicles including battle tanks, helicopters, light aircraft and heavy goods vehicles, and a 12V alternative for Class B vehicles including armoured 12V vehicles and cars.

DMS has worked with UK MOD for well over a decade and this latest contract is one of a number that the company have been awarded during that time.

Both versions have already been NATO codified.

The units are lightweight, man portable, but are rugged enough to withstand use in the field or even damage in the workshop.

Using the latest in absorbed glass mat technology delivering a peak power of 11.7kW, the power packs will operate in the harshest of conditions from -40 to +50C.

Safety features include an on/off isolator, reverse polarity warning as well as surge and spike protection.

A full range of accessories are also available including an 8A three-stage charger, trolley and the necessary connection leads for various vehicles and aircraft.
