Audio and Video specialist DK-Technologies has supplied Icelandic broadcasting corporation 365 Media with two PT5202 Varitime sync generators and two PT5664 waveform monitors for its recently launched news channel, NFS. 365 Media is the biggest TV, radio, web and newspaper/magazine content creation company in Iceland. It runs six TV services, six FM radio services, two newspapers, three magazines and website/web-cast facilities.

The company also owns and runs several distribution networks for different types of media including TV, radio and newspapers and is affiliated to two sister companies - mobile phone provider OGVodafone and Iceland's biggest film/TV production company, SagaFilm.

In total 365 Media employs 400 people.

In recent months 365 Media launched NFS, a news broadcasting channel that provides live news coverage for 16 hours a day, plus eight hours of re-run coverage.

The DK equipment, which was installed by Icelandic distributor Exton, is being used in the NFS studio and also in the channel's ENG vehicle.

Jon Ivarsson, Chief Technician for NFS, says the DK video sync generators and waveform monitors were chosen for their reliability and ease of use.

'We have been using them since we started broadcasting and have found them very easy to programme', he says.

'So far they have performed perfectly'.
