Dilithium Networks has added network monitoring support in a new release of the Dilithium Networks Analyser (DNA), a protocol analysis and test tool for 3G-324M markets. Dilithium Networks' DNA is the premier test tool for H.324M/3G-324M as defined by 3GPP and 3GPP2. The DNA's new features draw on Dilithium Networks' expertise in multimedia protocols, as well as on the experience accumulated by Dilithium Networks and its customers utilising the DNA to troubleshoot live deployment quality and interoperability issues.
The Dilithium Networks Analyser 2.1 includes network monitoring functionality that allows the device to be used for passive call monitoring as required in a sniffing application.
The network monitoring feature allows capture of call bitstream to file, offline analysis and display of call control as well as media channels.
The DNA 2.1 also includes many other important features that lead to enhanced protocol testing and analysis, new interoperability troubleshooting and problem determination capabilities.
H.245 user input indication support; additional trace features and codec enhancements are offered in the latest release.
"Dilithium Networks has put in considerable resources behind the DNA incorporating the requirements of network operators and equipment suppliers for troubleshooting interoperability issues", said Harish Gandhi, senior product marketing manager for Dilithium Networks.
"The new network monitoring feature enables network quality optimisation and has therefore generated considerable interest from customers that are preparing to trial and deploy 3G services worldwide".
Dilithium Networks' DNA offers a powerful and versatile tool for interoperability testing, troubleshooting and H.324M/3G-324M-based videotelephony service optimisation for network equipment manufacturers, handset manufacturers and mobile operators deploying multimedia services over 3G networks.
The DNA is designed for diagnosing, analysing and monitoring several aspects of videotelephony calls, including call control, connection setup and tear down, and voice and video codec quality.
Operators and OEMs are using the device to test new terminals and their interoperability with network equipment.
Dilithium Networks' DNA 2.1 is now available to customers.
