Digi International announces that its MaxStream branded XBee product family has been ZigBee Certified by the ZigBee Alliance

The XBee and XBee-PRO OEM RF modules passed rigorous independent testing to become one of only four products to receive ZigBee certification. 'Obtaining this certification further solidifies the MaxStream brand as the leader in reliable and easy-to-use ZigBee products,' said Larry Kraft, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Digi International.

'The XBee and XBee-PRO OEM RF modules present a uniquely robust solution to the many markets that are adopting wireless networking into their data communication applications'.

The XBee and XBee-PRO modules were subjected to a variety of independent tests conducted by National Technical Systems These tests certified the ability of XBee products to perform in ZigBee networks as specified by the ZigBee Alliance.

The first industrial-strength ZigBee Certified Products, the XBee and XBee-PRO modules are built upon a ZigBee Compliant Platform and feature industry leading range and reliability performance.

MaxStream utilises the attractive low-cost, low-power features of the ZigBee standard and adds additional functionality including multiple output power options, three antenna options, advanced configuration tools and worldwide agency approvals.

The XBee product line can be found in a variety of industrial and commercial applications including remote sensing, equipment control and automation.
