GPEG has created the Graphic Engine (GE) series of TFT display modules to allow feature-rich graphical content to be implemented using any simple 8-bit microprocessor system.

Product marketing professionals question why the user interface on modern consumer products are far more intuitive, feature packed and colourful than traditional interfaces.

A user-interface upgrade can be the key to keeping and extending a company's market share.

A key element that often prevents this upgrade is the large amount of resource and time needed to migrate from an existing 8- or 16-bit microprocessor environment to the contemporary 32- or 64-bit systems used in high-end consumer devices.

GPEG's Graphic Engine displays meet this need through a cost-effective approach.

Engineers have embedded a set of features to drive TFT panels into a total HMI solution.

These include: from 1-4Gb of display memory; primitive graphic commands such as lines, curves and blocks; bitmap picture handling; built-in font tables; two-wire UART communication interface; connection over large distances; and 2.5W total power consumption.

GPEG has created a series of different sizes and models to suit many applications including a high-brightness 500Cd 5.7in VGA TFT and a 7in high-resolution 800x480 widescreen unit.
