Deutsch has teamed up with TeleflexMorse Electronics to provide an interconnection solution for the new TeleflexMorse Generic Engine Monitor (GEM).
This innovative ready-to-use monitoring and display package for SAE J1939-compatible diesel-engine data automatically creates graphical instrument clusters to display key engine parameters and alarms.
The GEM will be welcomed by manufacturers looking to reduce development cycles, as it promises to eliminate a substantial element of the design process for diesel-powered equipment.
The interconnection solution provided by Deutsch to allow interface to the vehicle network is the DT transportation connector.
Being environmentally sealed to IP67, which covers immersion in water, the DT is widely used in harsh environments where reliable signal circuits are critical to operating performance.
Keith Winter, Deutsch Business Development Manager, explains why they were chosen to be involved with the project.
'When TeleflexMorse decided to manufacture the GEM in England they turned to us because they knew that they could obtain the product with local support'.
'We were on hand to ensure that they got the correct product for their modified application'.
'We are very proud that our connector has played an important role in the development of this monitoring and display package'.
