Visiting DEK at Nepcon Brighton 2005 will reveal platform-level innovations for high-productivity screen printing in advanced SMT assembly

DEK's stand will showcase the latest specification DEK Europa and Horizon 03i machines, which both use rich machine-to-machine and machine-to-human communications to boost control over complex processes and maximise utilisation. Completing the solution will be DEK's range of process support products, including stencils in laser cut and electroformed technologies, emulsion screens and screen printing consumables, all deliverable on a fast turnaround anywhere in the world.

DEK's solutions to next generation SMT challenges will be on display at the DEK booth, H210, at Nepcon 2005, the Metropole Hotel, Brighton, on 11th and 12th May 2005.

The Instinctiv user interface, which is a standard feature of each machine, uses the latest human factors knowledge to present complex process and machine status data in formats that are easy to read at a glance.

Instinctiv's TimeToGo features allow precise scheduling of consumable replenishment, and support optimal management of the machine.

Onboard help and error recovery provide unerring guidance through complex procedures, without demanding high levels of operator experience or training.

SMS alerts also communicate alarms and data in the enterprise of alarm thresholds are breached, wherever communicate comprehensive information about complex processes and procedures in formats that allow operators to react quickly and accurately in real-time.

The DEK Europa printer equips assemblers for next generation SMT, with advanced motion and positioning systems that achieve Cpk 2.0 at +/-20 mm full paste on pad process capability.

Europa already solves future SMT assembly challenges, including flip-chip, CSP, 0201 and next generation package technologies.

Horizon 03i blends speed, feature richness, accuracy and repeatability.

High-end options such as Hawkeye verification combine with full 508 x 508mm board compatibility, with the productivity advantage of the Instinctiv user interface.

Iscan technology, optimised printer frame construction and touchscreen controls complete the flexible, high-value, low cost-of-ownership solution.

DEK's new Iscan (intelligent scalable area network) machine control infrastructure significantly increase utilisation by enabling extensive automatic diagnostics and predictive maintenance to enhance uptime and minimise stoppages.

Iscan replaces the traditional wiring loom with a machine bus based on the Control Area Network (CAN) architecture.

As well as efficiently delivering control signals to all machine subsystems, Iscan also collects detailed status information for exchange with remote diagnostic tools that can help schedule routine maintenance, detect out of limits conditions, predict early failures and optimise parts replacements to prevent emergency stoppages.

Operators can also view this data in a variety of formats and also compile reports using widely available desktop analysis and publishing tools.

Iscan leverages increasingly sophisticated, high-bandwidth machine-to-machine communications to deliver these facilities, and also enhances overall reliability and longevity.

DEK's portfolio of stencils, emulsion screens and consumables such as cleaning rolls, tooling components, and cleaning swabs are quality solutions, created by experts who understand the needs of operators, managers and owners of screen printing equipment.

Great value, quality design and manufacture, and rapid availability in all territories globally are complemented by the convenience of local sales, marketing and support to present the best possible combination of technical prowess and customer convenience.

As ever, DEK's experienced staff will be available at the booth to discuss visitors' needs, and how DEK's total screen printing service can deliver 24/7 support to screen printer users, wherever in the world they are located.
