DEK's new Viking-class screen printer heralds a new deal for customers of semi-automatic equipment by offering high-end repeatability and features in its base configuration, as well as opening a smooth upgrade path to pass-through capability. The Viking class makes its UK debut at Nepcon Brighton, from 11th to 12th June 2003.

'The Viking-class printer uses the proven DEK Horizon chassis to achieve outstanding accuracy and repeatability, and to open access to productivity options normally only compatible with high-end equipment', said Rich Castle, DEK's UK Sales Manager.
'The upgrade path to pass-thru is a further important evolution for semi-automatic printers, allowing owners to scale capability cost-effectively as business demands increase'.
The new Viking-class accepts stencils up to 29 x 29in, and achieves stencil-board repeatability of 1.33Cpk at +/-25mm.

The list of advanced options includes ProFlow Direkt imaging, paste-on-pad inspection, FormFlex and other tooling options compatible with the industry-standard inline tooling bed, and various underscreen cleaning options including Vortex paperless cleaning.
Software productivity tools not usually enjoyed by semi-automatic owners are also available.
These include QC-Calc statistical process control and DEK's offline editor (OLE), which allows product programs to be generated, edited and maintained offline in English, French or German.
Viking-class machines run on the Microsoft Windows NT operating system, which has advanced networking features that allow easy connectivity into a shop floor or enterprise-wide Ethernet.
Access across a WAN or VPN via a remote browser can also be easily arranged.
In addition to its extensive feature-set, the Windows NT Embedded operating system is extremely stable, delivering a valuable enhancement to up-time and machine utilisation compared to other printers in the semi-auto price range.
Further features include software-controlled lighting for enhanced throughput and accuracy, and the optional DEK temperature control unit (TCU).
Advanced onboard diagnostics allow the user to access system level modules, exercise major components such as the camera, rail system or ProFlow transfer head, change passwords, and perform other troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
