Boxes put PC power into EPOS systems
DED has announced the PB6000 and PB7000 power boxes for EPOS systems, which are developed to support a high degree of system integration
Featuring Pentium MMX 233MHz (PB6000) and Celeron or Pentium III 700MHz (PB7000) CPUs, the boxes are designed on a slim all-in-one high-performance structure for PC architecture. They feature all of the capabilities to meet the high-end demands of POS applications or other industrial application systems.

Originated for operation security, convenience and reliability, the power boxes feature compact and rugged housing, with a storage room included for an optional CD ROM or UPS battery to support highly advanced UPS functions to secure operation against intermittent power failure.
With a programmable power switch, thereby eliminating the risk of accidental power off, the power boxes also support emergency power off if the CPU were to fail.
To ensure reliable operation is maintained, an excellent ventilation system is also featured.

Thermal printer saves kiosk space
With five different configurations as standard, the Nippon Primex NP-2020 series thermal printer is available from DED
Equipped to meet the needs of all applications, with four COM ports supporting DC power for peripheral devices and a CR port with a status sensor to control either 1 or 2 printer drive cash drawers, the boxes also have 32Kbyte NVSRAM for POS business or disk drive emulation.
A 24V DC power supply connector is also included to support POS printers without the need for separate power sources.
The enclosure is also fully lockable to provide secure access.
The PB7000 also offers dual independent display ports and an optional audio output port.
Both models may be used with DOS, Windows 98, Me or NT.
The boxes measure 408 x 308 x 77mm and weigh 6.1kg.
They operate over the temperature range 5 to 40C.
