LED clusters signal train door safety
DDP has developed an LED lamp assembly for railway indication lighting applications
Housed next to train passenger doors, the double-sided LED cluster lamp works as a safety mechanism that signals the position of passenger train doors to conductors before the train departs from a station. The doubled-sided LED cluster assembly is ideal for retrofitting and replacing traditional incandescent lamps, as the solid-state assembly works with the existing circuitry to indicate train door positions.

DDP has already delivered LED lamps to replace the CM895 Series of 15mm double contact, bayonet base incandescent lights in railway cars.
'In demanding environments such as railway applications, the double-sided LED cluster lamp simplifies the process of retrofitting and replacing incandescent assemblies that have short life spans because of vibration and voltage spikes', said Tony Toniolo, DDP President.
'The rugged LED lamp provides power savings and also maintenance savings, as the LED lamp draws less current, is more reliable, and has a longer life span than an incandescent lamp'.
These LED assemblies are designed to meet specific colour and brightness levels per the specific requirements of the application.
The double-sided LED cluster lamp operates at a voltage range of 37.5 to 90V DC.
DDP incandescent light replacement solutions are available in either standard or custom assemblies.
Pricing typically starts at $50 to $60, depending on volume.
Samples are available from DDP with a typical lead-time of 1 week.
