DCT joins with
Fujitsu in multimedia processor
Fujitsu Microelectronics and Digital Communication Technologies have jointly developed a processing architecture which delivers world leading Java performance in RISC/ARC-based ASIC/ASSP designs

Using a combination of Fujitsu's renowned technology and ASIC expertise, and a patented hardware and software architecture from DCT, the companies have jointly developed a multimedia processor that includes an ARC core. The design will be available shortly in volume quantities as a Fujitsu ASSP.
Johannes Richter, Multimedia Business Unit Director at Fujitsu commented "DCT's fresh approach brings a new dimension to running Java in embedded RISC/ARC designs and promises to accelerate Java uptake.

This innovative solution is ideal for home and automotive multimedia applications, including DVB, MHP, HAVi.
It will be also be available through Fujitsu's ASIC libraries for other applications such as networking, metering, home video and sound appliances and mobile communications, during the first half of 2002.
Technical support will be provided by DCT design and application engineers, FME application engineers, and contracted worldwide design houses.
