Poles attracted to Leicestershire
To counter the lack of suitably skilled people in the UK, Leicestershire-based contract electronics manufacturer Datalink Electronics has recruited two new members of staff from Poland
The successful Midlands firm has signed a three-year manufacturing agreement to supply all the electronic assemblies for Penlon's medical products. Ian Wilson, Director of Datalink, said: 'We have been supplying Penlon for many years, but our track record in the quality of our service and technical support, especially during design, has led to this deal'.
Abingdon-based Penlon makes medical equipment for operating theatres.
Datalink's components will go into anaesthetic machines and ventilators, which require a very high level of reliability.
This deal follows other recent successes for Datalink, which has recently signed a joint venture with Rolls-Royce to develop a security device using a signature verification process.
Last year it acquired the company that manufactures the major component for Autocue prompters and is now actively looking to acquire a business across the Atlantic.
