Datacon Technology is reorganising its international operations with direct subsidiaries in the USA and Asia.
The Austrian company is responding to the increasing demand for complex, customised packaging solutions and will thus be able to guarantee the shortest communication channels between manufacturer and customers.
By April of this year, a US subsidiary will be up and running with branches in Trevose near Philadelphia and in Phoenix, and will take over the marketing, sales and technical support for the US market.
The existing Datacon Asia in Singapore is currently also undergoing expansion.
In future, under the name Datacon Asia Pacific, it will be responsible for marketing, sales and technical support in the Asian region.
Sales offices in the Philippines, Korea, China and Taiwan will be added, while in Japan collaboration with a representative is planned.
Helmut Rutterschmidt, President and Director of the Board at Datacon Technology AG, explains: "Although our sales partner Kulicke and Soffa has done a fantastic job in the last three years, with our recent rapid growth we have now reached a sise which not only allows us to operate independently worldwide, but also makes this a necessity if we are to use our dynamic strength and flexibility to the advantage of our customers.
Short communication channels and better integration in development are just a couple of the benefits our customers will experience through global direct sales".
To ensure a smooth transition for the worldwide customer base, Kulicke and Soffa will continue to support Datacon's products in the USA and Asia during the transitional period and will work closely with Datacon to establish a sales and support structure which guarantees the long-term satisfaction of all customers.
