Datasound Laboratories has launched the AHM-6xx7 range, which comprises five panel-PC products.

Panel sizes include 5.7in (640 x 480), 8in, 10.4in and 12in (all 800 x 600) and 15in (1,024 x 768).

All are powered using the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 and are fitted with up to 2Gb DRAM.

These human-machine-interface panel PCs have a 250-400cd/m2 LCD display, with viewing angles of 130/100 (H/V) or better supported by an analogue resistive touch, all housed in a chassis with a NEMA 4-/IP65-compliant front panel.

A classic array of user interconnections comprises two 10/100/1,000Mbps local-area networks, two USB 2.0 ports, two RS232 ports, line-in/-out AC97 audio (excludes 5.7in variants) and PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, all of which are rear mounted alongside the 12-28VDC power connector.

Compactflash and 2.5in SATA HDD bays provide opportunities for either a desktop operating system (such as XP Pro), a truly embedded operating system (such as XP Embedded or CE6) or any other desired x86 operating system.

Weighing 1.4kg and enclosed in a black moulded plastic housing, the system is FCC and CE Class A certified.

With overall dimensions of 204 x 149 x 143mm through to 410 x 310 x 80mm and an operating temperature range of 0C to +50C, these fanless panel PCs can be used as an alternative to conventional PLC units.
