The CYV15G0204TRB device offers dual-channel independent transmit and receive functionality.
It is part of Cypress's HOTLink-On-Demand family - serdes devices with up to four channels that allow for multiple protocol video support (SD-SDI, HD-SDI, DVB-ASI) on any channel at any time.
The devices consume less board space than equivalent competing solutions, allowing customers to increase system port counts without increasing board real estate.
The HOTLink-on-Demand family is the largest and most flexible portfolio of Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers (SMPTE) standards-compliant PHYs on the market.
They include a combination of serialisers, deserialisers, reclockers and transceivers, giving designers scalability and flexibility in their professional video equipment designs, including production switchers, distribution amplifiers, D/A and A/D convertors, and camera control units.
'Cypress's HOTLink-On-Demand Family provided us with the most economical and quickest time-to-market solution', said Mike Hodson, Managing Director of OmniTek.
'The new OmniTek Dual-Link generators and analysers require multichannel SDI inputs and outputs, and the Cypress devices were the obvious choice for these designs'.
'We're excited that HOTLink-On-Demand can add value to OmniTek's innovative product offerings', said Erin Kettwig, Product Manager for Cypress physical layer devices.
'Our goal is to provide customers with a portfolio enabling them to design exactly what they need with minimal design effort'.
'We are committed to adding to our portfolio to address needs of our customers'.
