Programmer supports most common methodologies

Universal in-system programming tool supports programming of CPLD, FPGA, serial EPROMs and Flash memory devices

Available now from Corelis, ScanExpress Programmer is a universal in-system programming (ISP) tool that supports programming of CPLD, FPGA, serial EPROMs and Flash memory devices. ScanExpress Programmer supports the most common programming methodologies, including SPI, I2C, JTAG and CPU assisted.

Users are now able to use a single software and hardware package to program all the different programmable devices on their target.

ScanExpress Programmer is used for in-system programming of nonvolatile memory devices using serial protocols such as SPI, I2C, and JTAG.

The tool can program Flash memory devices on a board with a working JTAG scan-chain where the pins on the memory device are accessible through the boundary-scan component(s) I/O pins.

Furthermore, the tool can program memory devices connected to a CPU using the CPU's JTAG emulation capabilities to program the Flash memory at the theoretical speeds.

Additional features of the tool include dumping memory contents to a file, powerful fault detection and diagnostic, and parallel (gang) programming support where devices on multiple boards are programmed and verified in parallel.

Using Corelis' high-performance boundary-scan controllers, test clock (TCK) rates up to 100MHz are supported.

'As programmable devices and Flash memories continue to populate the PCB industry, it is important that engineers have a single, easy-to-use tool that allows them to program a memory device they encounter', said Karla May, Boundary-Scan Product Marketing Manager at Corelis.

'ScanExpress Programmer eliminates the need for multiple programming tool sets, reducing the learning curve along with setup and programming times'.

ScanExpress Programmer is immediately available with PCI, USB 2.0 and Ethernet-based controllers.

Prices start from US $5000.
