The Semiconductor Summit is aimed at introducing the top-30, upcoming and coming, high-growth semiconductor companies to the global investment community and to professionals who can assist the companies in their global expansion. Coresonic, which also was selected in the 2005 Swedish Tech Tour, is among the first companies to be awarded to participate twice in the European Tech Tour.
'The European Tech Tour has, over many years, shown a remarkable accuracy in recognising the upcoming stars in the European VC portfolio'.
'I am honoured to be part of a company that has been selected', said Roeland Boonstoppel, board director of Coresonic and active angel/VC investor.
Christer Svensson, President and Chairman of Coresonic, added: 'It's a sign of strength of the silicon IP industry that we, as a silicon IP startup, were selected for this event'.
'The industry trend is pointing in the direction of more outsourced silicon IP as the complexity of chips increase'.
'This is where we have found a great market opportunity and I am happy to see that it has been recognised'.
The summit took place in Leuven, Belgium, on 24th and 25th October 2006.
Among the 30 nominees, Coresonic was featured alongside companies like UK-based Picochip and French Sequans Communications.
Coresonic was one out of six companies originating from Sweden.
The Swedish companies included Nanoradio and Xelerated and represented a fifth of the nominees, indicating the strength of the upcoming Swedish semiconductor industry.
