Celestica has expanded its Volant Series of DC/DC convertors with new output programmable 5 and 10A nonisolated point-of-load solutions.
The new 5A model is available in 12 (NEA005) and 5V input (NCA005) versions, whereas the new 10A model comes only as a 12V input device (NEA010).
These models also offer flexibility with a programmable output voltage through use of an external resistor.
With the proliferation of different voltages to power multiple processors and ASICs in today's systems, this feature presents a significant advantage for OEMs.
Using industry standard PIN configurations, the Volant Series convertors are available in both SIP and SMT packages for highly dense systems requiring optimum board real estate.
The new 10A SMT package is available in a 33 x 13.5 x 8.4mm, and the SIP package dimensions are 50.8 x 8.3 x 12.7mm.
Boasting an even smaller form factor than Celestica's other Volant Series convertors, the new 5A SMT package is available in 20.3 x 11.4 x 6.1mm, and the SIP package in dimensions of 22.9 x 10.2 x 5.6mm.
The Volant Series product family provides OEMs with a variety of high-efficiency, low-cost solutions for computing, storage and communications equipment.
Positive enable logic and negative enable logic models are available, providing added flexibility for system enable logic compatibility.
With efficiencies of up to 95%, the Volant Series delivers industry-leading output current and thermal derating performance.
These three new additions complete the 5V input (NCA, NCF series) and 12V input (NEA, NEF series) product lines, offering scalable solutions at 5, 10 and 16A.
"We are continuing to expand the Volant Series family to meet the evolving needs of computing and telecommunications OEMs", said Kulbir Dhillon, Director, Business Development, Celestica Power Systems.
"Celestica's Volant Series offers a cost-effective, flexible solution with industry-leading metrics and performance".
The new 5 and 10A Volant Series DC/DC convertors are available now.
Pricing at 1000 units ranges from US $8.55 to $12.97, based on output current and packaging.
