Concurrent Computer Corp and Binghamton Simulator Company (BSC) have signed a reseller relationship focused on simulation relocation, service, support and upgrades. As part of this partnership agreement, Binghamton Simulator Company (BSC) will offer Concurrent's iHawk commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) multiprocessor powered by Concurrent's real-time RedHawk Linux as key components in its simulation solutions development. The complementary technologies of the two companies will provide a highly deterministic simulation solution for the US Air Force's T45 Undergraduate Navigation Training System (UNTS).

The T45 UNTS consists of six T45 training complexes and a Trainer Software Support Centre.

The UNTS is intended to provide intermediate training for navigation and weapons systems operators.

Concurrent has been selected to support the new Aerial Gunner Scanner Simulator II product line that will be introduced early this calendar year.

Concurrent was previously chosen by BSC to support its original Aerial Gunner Scanner Simulator (AGSS) for the United States Air Force (USAF) Special Operations Forces.

BSC designed, manufactured and delivered the world's first virtual technology gunnery trainer for side gunners on MH-60 and MH-53J helicopter simulators for the USAF.

'We are pleased to team with Concurrent to offer our customers a completely integrated hardware and software solution for a premier simulation platform', said E Terry Lewis, President of BSC.

'BSC is committed to delivering superior products to the simulation industry, and Concurrent's history and expertise in real-time solutions coupled with iHawk powered by RedHawk real-time Linux provides an ideal complement to that mission'.

'BSC is a pioneer and recognised leader in the simulation industry, with hardware and software simulation products now installed in commercial and military simulators worldwide', said Warren Neuburger, Concurrent Chief Operating Officer.

'Concurrent's iHawk continues to be a leading Linux platform of choice for our simulation customers across the globe, and we're committed to continuing to expand and develop real-time technology solutions for simulation and training and broadening that reach even further through our unique channel partner programme'.

The iHawk is Concurrent's high-performance PCI-based computer platform for time-critical data acquisition, simulation, and industrial systems applications.

At the heart of each iHawk system is Concurrent's RedHawk Linux real-time operating system.

Compatible with the popular Red Hat Linux distribution, RedHawk Linux features high I/O throughput, fast response to external events, and optimised interprocess communication.

Concurrent's iHawk platform is used by leading aerospace and defence companies worldwide.

A proven, reliable platform, the iHawk is a platform to simulate real-world missions for the purpose of pilot flight training, weapons training, battle mission planning, driving simulation and visual systems to ensure pilot mission readiness before the real mission is at hand.

BSC is an industry leader in designing, developing, manufacturing and delivering simulation products ranging from fixed base trainers to a broad range of products in use on simulators around the world.
