Seaward expands electrical-certification software
Seaward has updated and expanded its software program for the fast and efficient production of 17th edition electrical-test certification.
The Powerplus PC Version 2.0 software includes a number of new features to further streamline the electrical inspection, test and certification process.

Seaward has updated and expanded its specialist software program for the fast and efficient production of 17th edition electrical test certification.
In particular, by enhancing the two-way transfer of test data between the Powerplus 1557 installation tester and main PC records, the software is said to improve the working efficiency of contractors in the field and ensures full traceability and accuracy of electrical records and documentation.
Among the technical advances built into the intelligent software program is the ability to upload certificates generated on a PC into multiple testers for situations where a number of test personnel might be working on the same large installation, such as hospital developments, shopping malls or commercial office blocks.
On such premises, Powerplus PC V2.0 enables specific electrical test work to be allocated among the test team.
Once testing has been undertaken, the software enables test results downloaded separately from different testers to be merged into a single certificate for the premises or building complex concerned.
Another feature is the ability to clone certificates from an existing master document.
This allows the user to select an existing certificate and use this as a template to create multiple certificates for identical or similar electrical installations.
The cloned certificates will contain all of the distribution boards and circuit details held in the original to generate certificates, for example, for 20 or more houses that all have the same electrical configuration.
The latest version of the software program also supports remote working by allowing users to export all or part of a certificate via email to an engineer's laptop for uploading into a tester.
In the same way, updated test results can be sent back to central office once work has been completed for completion of the test certificate.
The use of Powerplus PC 2.0 and the Powerplus 1557 tester means that test results can be stored on the 'virtual' certificate held in the tester, for subsequent downloading to PC records and output onto pre-printed NICEIC, ECA, ECA Select or NAPIT stationery.
