Emulators support latest Infineon processor
An emulator support package for the latest Infineon XC166 V2 processor is now available from Computer Solutions
The new package is based on a JTAG card interface for the iC3000 and iC4000 emulators from Isystem, and supports operation at voltages from 5 down to 1.8V. It supports the processor running at up to its maximum frequency of 200MHz, and debugging takes place in real time. On-chip breakpoints, access breakpoints and real-time watches are supported, as well as multi-core debugging.

The Infineon XC166 V2 combines high performance with enhanced modular architecture and JTAG debugging.
It includes new instructions to support bit, DSP and high level languages, most of which execute in a single cycle of its 200MHz clock with lower power consumption.
The power of the new processor is matched by the debugging facilities of the iC3000 and iC4000 emulators, which offer parallel, USB and Ethernet interfaces plus the winIDEA integrated development environment.
As well as a powerful debugger, winIDEA includes project manager and build manager functions that can be integrated with all well-known compilers, thus allowing users to write, download, debug and edit code via a single user interface.
The modular card-based approach to emulator support means that, just by changing a PCMCIA size card, low-cost BDM/JTAG debugging can also be provided for other processor families, including 68HC12, 68HC16, 683xx, M-Core, PPc5xx/8xx, PPC603, ARM7, Xscale and Star12.
The ARM7 version can include code and logic trace facilities.
