Placement system provides
speed and reliability
High-speed image processing software provides a 100 % quality check of BGA and fine pitch components prior to placement
The Essemtec CSM7100V placement system is now available from Contax in the UK, Ireland and Benelux. This entry level system boasts many of the features available in larger Essemtec models, together with the fast changeovers required for high-mix, low-volume production. The CSM7100V has a sophisticated vision capability with high-speed image processing software which provides a 100 \% quality check of BGA and fine pitch components prior to placement.

In the event of a fault, such as missing balls or bent leads, then the component is automatically returned to the tray.
Unlike traditional machines with mechanical centering, the CSM7100V uses a touch-less system that does not require calibration at startup.
All picked components are measured for position on the nozzle by the universal optical system and therefore placed with guaranteed precision.
For high-mix production, the CSM7100V can keep changeover time and costs to a minimum.
It offers off-line programming, together with intelligent feeders and a large feeder capacity, accommodating up to 100 x 8mm taped or 160 stick-fed components.
All feeders for tapes and reels are intelligent, and their positioning in the placement machine is recognised automatically.
The system has capacity for more than 100 components, so many standard components can remain permanently on the system, saving time during batch changeover.
There is also an optional time-pressure or screw dispensing system for solder paste or glue.
Based on Microsoft Windows Software, the CSM7100V is easy to program and use.
It has a solid construction designed for longevity and is supplied complete with a solid base.
'The new Essemtec CSM7100V is the ultimate in entry level placement systems', commented Mike Rapson, Managing Director at Contax.
'It offers advanced features such as vision and intelligent feeders that are normally only available in a much larger system'.
'This makes it ideally suited to high-quality, high-mix production environments', he said.
