Carbon Design Systems will demonstrate its virtual system prototyping software product on Stand A18 at DATE 2006. SOC-VSP allows RTL (Verilog and VHDL) designs to be easily imported into an ARM RealView SoC Designer environment. SOC-VSP enables multiple levels of design abstraction to be combined in a single system model.
Models can include: C, SystemC, RTL, processor models, and transaction-level models.
SOC-VSP is used by system architects and software developers to validate their chip architecture and embedded firmware on a hardware accurate model.
On Tuesday 7th March Carbon and ARM will present a joint seminar on electronic system level (ESL) tools and an accompanying methodology for system-on-chip (SoC) design that includes architectural modelling, performance analysis, firmware development, and system validation.
The session: 'A virtual system prototyping methodology for ARM processor-based SoCs', will show how Carbon's SOC-VSP and ARM's RealView SoC Designer are used to develop and validate ARM processor-based SoC designs.
The methodology and tools presented in the seminar enable early architecture and firmware validation using cycle-accurate, transaction-level models in a high-performance system simulation environment.
