Concoat adopts new identity
Following its acquisition last year by Chase Corporation, Concoat has changed its name to HumiSeal Europe, reflecting the global nature of HumiSeal's business
Following its acquisition last year by HumiSeal's parent company Chase Corporation, Concoat has changed its name to HumiSeal Europe, reflecting the global nature of HumiSeal's business. Concoat, the UK conformal coatings supplier, has been manufacturing HumiSeal products for the European marketplace for over 25 years, and is highly respected in the recommendation and supply of coating products to suit customers' ever-changing needs.

HumiSeal has been supplying conformal coatings since the late 1950s and today offers a range of over 60 coatings, thinners, strippers, masking and cleaning materials as well as offering custom formulations to meet individual specifications.
Therefore, this name change reflects the joining of two market leaders in the supply of conformal coatings and associated materials to the electronics industry.
'Our reputation for quality and leadership in the conformal coatings industry goes beyond materials alone', stated David Greenman, Managing Director.
'The availability of high quality technical assistance and services to the users of HumiSeal coatings is unique in the industry'.
'Now, with sales locations worldwide, we are able to provide an unequalled service to our customers'.

'By operating in the USA and Europe under the same name, we make it crystal clear that we can offer a seamless transition between our manufacturing, sales and technical support services, with products that are tested and certified independently to military and automotive standards throughout the world'.
Adding that although Concoat has an excellent name in Europe, HumiSeal is known globally as a supplier of high quality conformal coatings, leaving clients in no doubt that they can find the same products and the same level of technical support wherever they are located.
Greenman is enthusiastic about his company's prospects, and about its new identity: 'We expect to grow between 5 and 10% this year'.
'We are winning new projects all the time, in a broad range of industries, from the fishing tackle and white goods sectors to the highly advanced aerospace and military sectors'.
'With our new identity, we can build on our excellent market position and good name, and grow our global business still further.
Our new name truly makes us part of the HumiSeal family and opens the door completely for real, in-depth co-operation'.
UK Chief Chemist, Phil Kinner, is also enthusiastic about the new partnership: 'The R and D teams in the USA and the UK tend to focus on different areas according to our market demands, so we can now tap into an expanded pool of experience and expertise for development and problem solving'.
'This is invaluable to us and, as a result, to our clients', he says.
Adding that two conformal coatings ranges developed by the UK team for Europe offer a perfect example of how one team's efforts can benefit the other.
'A few years ago Concoat developed a range of water-based materials to comply with new European VOC restrictions; at that time there was no need for a similar product in the USA, but this may now be changing so, rather than re-invent the wheel, our USA partners can simply adopt our own 1H20 grades'.
More recently, the European team enjoyed an extremely successful launch of its UV curing products.
'The marketplace had been waiting a long time for a trouble-free, fast-curing UV product and the HumiSeal UV40 range was incredibly well-received', says Kinner, adding that the USA launch was just as successful.
'With Humiseal UV40 our global client base can now benefit from high-speed throughput, flexible and broad-ranging temperature tolerances never before achieved with UV coating materials, whilst still guaranteeing excellent performance both in production and in the field'.
'Also, military and UL certification procedures for the range are nearing completion too'.
'Last month we launched a range of low-VOC cleaning materials, called CirkuitKleen that are designed specifically for the new, more aggressive lead-free fluxes', adds Kinner.
'These fluxes are potentially more damaging to PCBs, yet with the higher processing temperatures used for lead-free production, they tend to polymerise, even vitrify, to a greater degree, making them extremely difficult to remove'.
Kinner emphasised the importance of compatibility between cleaning materials and fluxes/pastes, and between fully cleaned boards and conformal coatings, adding that the HumiSeal range of cleaners and coatings eliminates any problems of noncompatibility.
Greenman, concludes: 'As our customers become increasingly globalised and expand to meet the needs of their customers, so this move will enable us to evolve to continually meet their needs'.
