A new modular patching rack, specifically designed to provide superior levels of functionality and performance, is now available from Comms Room Services, a startup company which is the first business in the UK - and possibly anywhere - to offer specialist services focused on designing and re-engineering network communications centres. The new, high-density rack delivers an unrivalled degree of user-friendliness, allowing labelling, recording and documentation of patched connections to be completed quickly and easily, while its unique design means the system can be adapted to fit any shape or size of room. Allowing easy access to all ports, the Medusa II Cat 6 patching cabinet can be wall mounted or installed back-to-back for increased space efficiency.

Innovatively designed to enable effective, high-density cable management (the cabinet is fully manageable at 100% population), the Medusa II incorporates a gravity chamber which takes-in any excess patch cabling, and eliminates the common problem of cable knots that occur in standard patching cabinets.

Designed to accommodate an extensive number of interchangeable combinations, to meet any patching requirement, the Medusa II comprises of three main models (22, 19 and 13U), and can be assembled extremely quickly.

Indeed, it takes less than 15 minutes to construct a dual 44U stack, ready for installation with up to 1344 outlets.

Configured so all patch cords hang loose, without overlapping or tangling with one another, the Medusa II's inter-rack management system is run through a chamber on the top of the rack, rather than the bottom, so cables are not lying on top of one another.

When cable tracing is required, this design ensures that there is very little or no interference with other connections in the rack.

Horizontal cabling within the Medusa II is run straight into dedicated channels and secured in position with cable retainer bands - there is no need for cable or Velcro ties - to allow fast and neat installation.

The horizontal cable management system's protective design also prevents potential cable damage from sharp corners.

Measuring just 400 x 750mm, the Medusa II is suitable for screened or unscreened systems, is compatible with any industry standard patch panel and patch cords, and is fully earthed to industry regulations.
