CI Systems has released the IR Threat Simulator (IRTS) to test missile approach warning systems (MAWS) without the need to fire real missiles. The IRTS is billed as the most efficient missile simulator on the market today with the ability to simulate missiles from up to 5km away. 'The IRTS fills a need in the market for simulating a missile approach to a target from a long distance'.

'Also, with the optional radiometer, the IRTS gives a complete analysis of missile simulation on the one hand and testing the IR jammers on the other'.

'We believe that the IRTS will quickly prove itself to be indispensable for testing and simulating missile warning systems and confirming IR countermeasures both in the lab and field', said Fred Tzafrir, CI System's Marketing and Sales Manager for its E-O Division.

Training crews can use the IRTS to learn how to operate missile warning systems and IR jammers.

It also has an option for a video tracker, and customised missile profiles may be easily integrated into it.
