Cetecom has moved its administration and mobile communications testing laboratory to a brand-new building
Following on from last month's opening of a test centre in Taiwan, a further Cetecom lab with state-of-the-art technical equipment has been opened in Seoul, Korea. The new location will give the local mobile communications industry the opportunity to have their products tested to national and international standards and certified for the world market in their own country.
The range of services Cetecom is offering in Korea covers the whole range of tests required by GCF and PTCRB for both radio and protocol tests, audio and the testing of radiated spurious emissions and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
All four GSM frequencies (850/900/1800/1900MHz) are covered as well as SIM application toolkit, WAP, Edge, GPRS/E-GPRS and AMR.
The new Korean lab is a joint venture with Cetecom's long-standing partner Movon Corp.
The new company, Cetecom Movon, is majority owned by Cetecom Germany.
The local management of the Korean location is in the hands of Thami El Idrissi, a Key Account Manager at Cetecom ICT Services in Saarbruecken (Germany) since 1999, and James Park of Movon.
The GSM lab is led by Jani Hopia, a Project Leader at the Cetecom Mobile Communications Division in Oulu, Finland, since 2003.
