Coding Technologies' aacPlus v2 audio coding engine has been integrated into Dobbin, Cube-Tec's brand new professional audio rendering solution. The Dobbin solution will offer automated, quality-controlled encoding and processing of complete audio archives within a scalable, multi-PC based framework. aacPlus v2 has proven its outstanding coding efficiency in multiple independent tests conducted by 3GPP or the EBU, delivering CD-quality stereo at 48Kbit/s, and excellent quality stereo down to 24Kbit/s.

This level of efficiency facilitates new applications such as the delivery of music to mobile devices, and radically reduces transmission costs compared with legacy codecs, without compromising the audio quality.

Consequently, aacPlus v2 has been selected by many important standardisation bodies such as 3GPP or DVB (Digital Video BroaDCasting) as the codec for high quality content delivery.

Through the adoption of aacPlus v2, Dobbin will be the world's first professional content creation and aggregation solution for these emerging markets, such as mobile music download, or Internet music distribution.

'The integration of aacPlus into the Dobbin solution opens up a new market, which is eagerly awaiting a solution of this type', said Joerg Houpert, Technical Director of Cube-Tec International.

'aacPlus is clearly taking off right now, and we are thrilled to offer this amazing codec to our professional customers'.

'Cube-Tec's Dobbin rendering solution is the first professional studio device to deploy aacPlus v2', explained Toni Fiedler, Manager Business Development, Coding Technologies.

'The inclusion of aacPlus into Dobbin paves the way for studios and archives to reliably manage their assets for mobile downloads, DVD production or any other application using our technology'.
