Catalyst Semiconductor has opened its third Far East sales office and has appointed Charlie Wang as Area Sales Manager, China and Hong Kong

reporting to Irv Kovalik, Catalyst Semiconductor Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Stationed in Shanghai, Wang will be responsible for sales and distribution in the Peoples Republic of China and Hong Kong. "We are very pleased an individual with Charlie's ability and proven record has joined Catalyst", said Irv Kovalik, Catalyst Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

"A successful move into new product areas requires a greater emphasis on design-win activity and increased awareness of our engineering contacts within target accounts.

In addition, with China becoming a major manufacturing centre, our ability to provide local support to major contract assembly operations has driven us to expand our direct regional presence".

Wang joins Catalyst Semiconductor from IDT Corp where he was a Regional Sales Manager.

Other professional experience includes Newave Semiconductor, which was acquired by IDT in 2001, Microchip Technology and National Semiconductor.

He has a BSEE degree from Shanghai University and also a MSc in engineering from Shanghai University.
