Housed in a compact quarter-brick package, the latest 75W dual-output isolated DC/DC convertor from C and D Technologies provides the industry's highest power density

Housed in a compact quarter-brick package, the latest 75W dual output, isolated DC/DC convertor from C and D Technologies provides the industry's highest power density while reducing the need for additional components and external cooling. The VSX75MD35 DC/DC convertor employs the C and D Technologies proprietary V series high-density technology to achieve a 90% efficiency rating, minimising the need for heatsinking.

A low output ripple reduces external filtering requirements.

Integrated functionality that will help designers to further reduce external component count includes non-latching protection against input undervoltage, input overvoltage, output overvoltage and overtemperature.

The convertor also features continuous short-circuit protection, input filtering and a remote on/off capability.

Ideally suited to distributed power architectures and telecommunications applications, the VSX75MD35 has a wide 36-75V DC input voltage range and offers 3.3 and 5.0V DC outputs.

The convertor allows output voltages to be trimmed by up to 10% while output voltage tracking takes place at turn-on and turn-off under all line and load conditions.

For maximum design flexibility, power can be traded between the dual outputs as required.

The new convertor is approved to UL/CUL1950 and EN60950 and has a rated isolation between input and output of 1.5kV DC.

Baseplate operating temperature is -40 to +100C.

VSX75MD35 DC/DC convertors are priced at $99 in OEM quantities.
